Salvation
- What Does It Mean To Be Saved
Being
saved means our sins have been completely removed.
God promises to forgive our sins and restore us
to full fellowship with Him if we put our trust
in Jesus Christ. Being saved means no longer having
our sins count against us; it means being forgiven
by the grace of God and being given eternal life.
Romans
3:24 Now
God in his gracious kindness declares us not
guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus,
who has freed us by taking away our sins.
God
sent Jesus Christ to take our place and receive
the punishment for sin that we deserved. When
we trust in him, we receive the gifts of eternal
life and fellowship with God.
Romans
10:9-10 If
you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised him
from the dead, you will be saved. For it is
by believing in your heart that you are made
right with God, and it is by confessing with
your mouth that you are saved.
We
are saved by faith, putting our confidence and
trust in what God has done for us in Christ.
Ephesians
2:8 God
saved you by his special favor when you believed.
And you can't take credit for this; it is a
gift from God.
God
wants to save ALL his children, poor and rich;
big and small; black or white; It doesn't matter
who you are or what you have done, I repeat IT
DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU HAVE DONE! God has
both the power and the desire to save ALL who
call upon him!
2
Peter 3:9 The
Lord isn't really being slow about his promise
to return, as some people think. No, he is being
patient for your sake. He does not want anyone
to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone
to repent.
When
you are saved you are freed from the power of
sin and free to live a new life.
Romans
6:6-8 Our
old sinful selves were crucified with Christ
so that sin might lose its power in our lives.
We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we
died with Christ we were set free from the power
of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know
we will also share his new life.
Romans
5:1-2
Since
we have been made right in God's sight by faith,
we have peace with God because of what Jesus
Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of
our faith, Christ has brought us into this place
of highest privilege where we now stand, and
we confidently and joyfully look forward to
sharing God's glory.
